Author Profile: Popoola Ajibike

I grew up in a family where my parents bought books for my siblings and me to read. Specifically nonacademic books, just to build our minds and thought processes. Therefore, becoming a teenager, my desire to share my knowledge with people, especially on social media began to grow and this led to the beginning of my writing journey. Facebook was one of my favorite social media channels at that time. And with the desire I had, it was really helpful in making my desires come alive.

I started off by sharing motivational and inspirational content which had a record of positively impacting people. I didn’t just stop posting content on Facebook, I proceeded to create a podcast and a YouTube channel which required that I write out my scripts before recording or shooting my videos. Ever since, I have evolved and grown to become an intelligent writer with storytelling as one of my core strengths.

Publications, Achievements, and Awards

Out of my many writing achievements, the ones I am most proud of are the academic writings I have done for different international clients. After my dedication and commitment to getting the jobs done, it gives me so much joy to hear back from the clients weeks or months later about their good grades as a result of my hard work. Their good grades, satisfaction, and trust in me are my biggest achievements.

Best Advice for Aspiring Writers in Nigeria

When it seems you don’t know what to write or where to start from, and you’re almost feeling frustrated, take a break. Do what you love the most at that moment. Make sure you feel refreshed and energized, then get back to work afterward to start writing again.
